BERG PlayBase Large dimensions: 380cm wide, 100cm deep, 245cm high

How to Choose the Right PlayBase Size for Your Space

The BERG PlayBase comes in four sizes. They are all the same depth and height, so the choice comes down to how wide a frame your garden can take and how many accessories you want up at once.

Every frame is 1m deep and 2.45m high, has a maximum load of 400kg and comes in Black or Green.

Measure the clear space, not just the frame

The frame itself is narrow. What takes the room is the play around it. As a guide, allow about 2m for swings, 1.5m for the climbing wall and 3 to 4 metres in front of the basketball hoop. The clear-space figures above already allow for this. Our installation tips cover choosing the spot.

BERG PlayBase Medium dimensions: 285cm wide, 100cm deep, 245cm high

Wall: for small gardens and courtyards

The Wall frame is 2.4m wide and mounts against a load-bearing brick or block wall — a house, garage or solid shed — rather than standing free. It has 3 carabiner points and takes one or two swing-type accessories. The platform and slide and the hammock don't fit it, and the climbing net and soccer goal are made in sizes for the Medium, Large and Extra Large. More in climbing frames for small gardens.

    Medium: the compact free-standing frame

At 2.85m wide, the Medium needs a clear space of 6m × 4m. Its 4 carabiner points take two swing-type accessories at once, and it takes the size M climbing net and soccer goal.

Large: the one most families choose

The Large is 3.8m wide and needs 7m × 5m. It has 6 carabiner points, so three children can swing at the same time, and it is the only frame that takes the hammock.

    Extra Large: the most room

The Extra Large is 4.9m wide and needs 8.5m × 6m. With 8 carabiner points it takes four swing-type accessories at once.

    Tumble bar or ladder?

The top section of the frame comes in three configurations. TL has a tumble bar and a ladder, and is the most popular. TT has two tumble bars, for spinning and hanging. LL has two ladders, for monkey-bar style climbing.
