Swing and Slide Sets for Irish Gardens

Swings and a slide are the two things most children ask for first. With a BERG PlayBase you get both on one steel frame, and you can keep adding to it as they grow. This guide shows which frames take a slide, how many swings fit alongside it, and what a typical build costs.

How a PlayBase swing and slide set works

The PlayBase is a modular frame. You choose the frame for your garden, then hang accessories from it. The swings clip onto the carabiner points along the top beam, and the Platform + Slide attaches to the frame to give children a raised platform and a slide down.

Because everything is an accessory, a swing and slide set is not a fixed product. You can start with a slide and one swing, then add a nest swing, trapeze or climbing wall later, or swap pieces out as your children's interests change.

If a slide is high on your list, rule out the PlayBase Wall and choose between the Medium, Large and Extra Large based on your garden and how many children will play at once.

Prices below are in euro including VAT, using the tumble bar + ladder (TL) end frames on the Medium and Large. The two-tumble-bar (TT) versions cost €150 less.

Which frame should you choose?

Medium — the most compact frame that takes a slide. It has 2 swing spots, so a slide and one swing seat is a natural starting point for one or two children. Needs 6m × 4m of clear space.

Large — our most popular frame, with 3 swing spots. Pair the slide with two swing seats, or with the hammock, which only fits the Large. Needs 7m × 5m.

Extra Large — the most room, with 4 swing spots. A slide and three swing seats keeps a larger family or visiting cousins busy at once. Needs 8.5m × 6m.

Choosing swings to go with the slide

• Swing seat (€39, 3+, up to 80kg) — the everyday swing.
• Baby seat (€79, from 9 months, up to 30kg) — for little ones, with an adult pushing.
• Nest swing (€129, 3+, up to 150kg) — room for two children or a child and a parent.
• Hammock (€109, Large only) — a place to relax once the sliding is done.

Built for Irish weather

The PlayBase frame is galvanised, powder-coated steel, so there is no timber to rot or treat after a wet winter. Free-standing frames are held by ground anchors, with no concrete needed — see installation.

Every frame has a 400kg maximum load and a 10-year frame warranty, rising to 13 years when registered with BERG. Frames come in black or green, and in-stock models are delivered within 48 hours from our Irish warehouse, free on orders over €300.
